80% ~ 90% of pectin produced in industry is used in food industry, and jelly, jam and soft sweets are produced by its gel property.

 

Daily Chemical Industry

 

It is mostly used in cosmetic water, acidic tooth powder, etc. It can't be used in alkaline cosmetics because it is not stable enough in alkaline medium. Pectin is non-toxic and non-irritating, and can be used in cosmetics that need to be imported, such as lipstick. It can also be used as thickener and binder of toothpaste.
