7. Properties: DL- tartaric acid is a colorless transparent crystal or white crystalline powder. Odorless but sour. Sour taste and sour strength is similar with L-.tartaric acid. The melting point is 205-206℃. Water soluble 18.4g/100ml, 20 DEG C), slightly soluble in ethanol. 0.3% aqueous solution of pH 2.4.
